ASPHALT EMULSION PLANTS


These highly mobile emulsion plants are built onto a rigid skid mounted steel frame, rust protected and painted. Center lift point/cradle for movement and placement of mill. They may be mounted in a 20 ft or 40 ft container, painted and rust protected. The control room is constructed with window and doors and is located within the machine room.

1) COLLOID MILL
  • Maximum capacity of 8tons/hour., 16, 25, 40 tons per hour
  • Stainless steel rotor + stator
  • Airgap-adjustable
  • Mill is jacketed for product heating or cooling
  • Mill motor 3 phase to suit local power supply
  • Separate dosage of water and bitumen
OPTION:
VSS mill with fixed airgap, stainless steel tools and 3 phase electric motor to suit local power.

2) BITUMEN LINE
  • Pump capacity to suit output
  • Accuracy better than +/- 0.25% off full ranges
  • 3" jacketed bitumen pump
  • Bitumen pump includes relief valve, hot oil or steam heating capacity
  • Motor to suit local power supply
  • 2" valving for inline circulation, complete with flanged pipe end

3) SOAP LINE
  • Flow meter w/ gallon or (liter) counter
  • 2" Stainless Steel pump w/viton elastomer seals
  • Motor to suit local power
  • Flow meter, controller w/ high/low temperature gauges
  • Gallon/Liter counters
  • Non-return(check)valve in-line

4) CONTROL PANEL
  • Control panel mounted on the frame with following data:
  • Start/stop bottoms for the following:
    • Mill start/stop
    • Bitumen pump
  • Pipe and motor heating
    • Soap pump
    • Latex pump
    • Burner/ Heater
    • Control voltage
  • Schematic flow diagram showing all relevant flow and temperatures
  • All motors are protected with auto fuses
  • Mill motor amp meter
  • Mill motor -electrical soft-start equipped


This fixed or Mobile Asphalt Emulsion Batch Plant is capable, and fully equipped for producing a complete range of Anionic, Nonionic and Cationic Emulsions. When equipped with ltex injection and or heat exchanger it can produce emulsions based on SBS, SBR, EVA, EMA. PE and other, compatible polymers.
The system is fully plumbed; With all flow meters, check valves and temperature gauges installed in the system. All plumbing is flanged for immediate adaptability to your tank farm.
Unit is completely wired and ready for immediate installation.

OPTIONS:

1) SOLVENT LINE : (POA)
  • Pump sized to provide dosing into bitumen line of 1-10% solvent
  • Electric motor and counter mounted on the control panel to set flow rates

2) HEAT EXCHANGER (POA)
  • High efficiency plate type heat exchanger capable of temperature reduction of 40C on maximum mill output
  • Includes valve for mill outlet to allow pressure
  • This option is required for production of SBS, EMA emulsions

3) MODIFIER DOSAGE LINE: ($POA)
  • Stainless steel pump with adjustable flow meter
  • Capacity to suit out put
  • Accuracy +/- 0.25%
  • Non-return (check)valve on mill
  • With this option latex modified emulsions may be made

4) CONTAINER MOUNTING:
  • 2O foot standard container rust proofed, with one door and window:
  • 40 Foot container model with lined office/lab area

5) TRAINING AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER

Valley Slurry Seal Company will furnish the services of a service representative to supervise, assist and instruct the employees of the Purchaser in the start-up and check-out of the equipment furnished by Valley Slurry Seal Company for a period not to exceed 10 working days. All transportation (airline, train, car, etc) and living expenses are not included and are the responsibility of the Purchaser.
If the services of a service representative are in excess of the time above, these services will be charged to the Purchaser per day plus all traveling expense enroute to and return from the installation site or work location. If the representative is required to work on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays or for more than eight hours on any day, overtime rates shall be paid at 1.5 times daily rate by the Purchaser.
Purchaser shall furnish the necessary facilities, labor and materials to properly test and start-up the equipment. Purchaser shall furnish the following at the equipment site prior to the arrival of VSS representatives:
  • All piping and tank connections completed and tested
  • All fuel and/or gas connected in the plant
  • All electrical power wiring complete
  • All raw materials ready for plant production
  • Bitumen
  • Hot Water
  • Acid
  • Emulsifiers and other additives
  • Under normal conditions the installation takes 10 days
  • Price for one supervisor during 10 days


VSS supplies a full technology transfer and formulation service. This includes formulation, trouble shooting, development, mix design and raw materials analysis.

This Emulsion plant configuration does not include Water Tank (1-for heating, 1-for cooling), Bitumen, Solvent, or any other type of finished product or holding tank. Tank farm to be furnished by customer. This unit does NOT contain tanks or external pumps of any kind.

We can offer the following options for the Emulsion plant:
  1. Complete Plant and Tank farm layout and design, $POR
  2. Supply of tanks, pumps and valving to set up complete tank farm. Price determined after review with customer to decide their tank farm needs. (See attached tank farm basic lay-out design)
  3. 3 Million BTU Hot Oil Heater with heat exchanger, $POR
  4. 40,000 liter, finished emulsion storage tank, insulated w/45 meters of heating coil,
  5. 3,800 liter polypropylene soap concentrate tank mounted on stand w/ mixer/agitator,
  6. 19,000 liter finished soap solution tank w/ 45 meters of heating coil,

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

If not otherwise stated, the General conditions for supply of Plant and Machinery for Exports, ECE 188A, Appendix II, and Addendum to ECE 188A, Appendix III shall apply.

14-16 weeks from order for Charlotte mill, 6-8 weeks for VSS Mill.
