VSS LABORATORY MILL: EMULTECH® VSLM 100
 
Simulates Exactly Any Commercial Mill

Features:
  1. Colloid mill Charlotte G5. With variable speed AC controller. Read out in rpm.
  2. Bitumen pump 1 lt/min (approx) variable speed positive displacement pump with electric motor and flow indication on control panel. Agitator and
  3. Latex injection system consisting of pump, ac controller and readout
  4. Soap pump variable speed 0.7 lt/min approx with motor and electrical element for heating and thermometer.
  5. Feed tanks:3 mild steel
    • Tank 1: 20 lts (approx) for bitumen with electrical heating element and stirrer with recirculation.
    • Tank 2: 20 lt (approx)
    • Tank 3: 10 lt (approx)
  6. Heat exchanger coaxial type in line with throttle valve and pressure gauge.
    • Heating system - tracing of asphalt pump and mill and all lines for connection to customer hot oil system OR electrical taping.
    • Heater in asphalt tank and soap tank.
  7. Control system:
    • Stem thermometers in asphalt tanks.
    • Thermocouple in exit line of mill.
    • Flow meter on latex line. With flow indicator.
    • Bitumen flow indicator based on pump speed.
    • Control of binder content is achieved by exit temperature monitoring based on soap and bitumen temperature and or by calibration of soap flow versus bitumen flow.
    • Stop start buttons on mill and all pumps with wired all stop button.
GENERAL:

  • Bitumen pump and soap pumps may be run in recirculation mode and unit is opened to production by three way valve.
  • Exit valve may be in sample or waste mode.
  • May be operated under pressure for SBS emulsions.
  • Speed controller on mill to simulate different shear rates to calibrate to any production mill.
  • Pressure gauge installed on mill.
  • System is mounted on a trolley made from painted mild steel.
  • Electrical system is 460V 3 phase power at 60 Hz or to suit customer. Please specify.

    If not otherwise stated, the General conditions for supply of Plant and Machinery for Exports, ECE 188A, Appendix II, and Addendum to ECE 188A, Appendix III shall apply.
