DESCRIPTION:
RoadChem™ 309® is a specially engineered emulsifier used in the manufacture of high performance microsurfacing emulsions and quick set slurry emulsions. It improves the mix characteristics with a range of additives allowing lower emulsifier and water levels, even for difficult aggregates. RoadChem™ 309® systems are rapid curing and setting with the additional advantage of also being quick to traffic. RoadChem™ 309® is proven to give excellent mix set and cure characteristics on a very wide range of aggregate chemistry. RoadChem™ 309® is compatible with most Russian, Asian and Arabian crude based bitumen. Mix designs should always be carried out with any aggregate/bitumen system to ensure optimal performance.

Viscosity at 25C: 7400cp
Viscosity at 60C: 550cp
Flash point: >200C
Specific gravity: 0.95 @ 25C
Storage: Store in a cool dry place, do not let the temperature exceed 120°F (50°C). Use open drums first.
Storage life: 12 months minimum (If stored correctly).
Packaging: Supplied in steel drums (309 kg) or in 1 tonne totes.

APPLICATION:
RoadChem™ 309® is suitable for use in slurry and microsurfacing systems where rapid cure is required.
RoadChem™ 309® is an amidoamine type emulsifier.
RoadChem™ 309® is compatible with a wide range of polymer modification types, including Neoprene, SBR, EVA and SBS.

TYPICAL FORMULATION: All formulations should be tested in the laboratory before use.

Soap solution:
RoadChem™ 309® 1.2 - 1.4%
Hydrochloric acid: Adjust to required pH 2.0-2.5
Latex: 2.5 - 3.0%
Water: Adjust to 100%
Asphalt: 60 - 65%
