DESCRIPTION:
RoadChem™ 790® is a specially engineered 100% active additive and co emulsifier used in the manufacture of high performance microsurfacing emulsions and quick set slurry emulsions. It reduces the need for excessive water and eliminates segreagation. It may be added into the emulsion or in prewet water onn the machine. RoadChem™ 790® systems are rapid curing and setting with the additional advantage of also being quick to traffic. RoadChem™ 790® is proven to give excellent mix set and cure characteristics on a very wide range of aggregates including those indigenous to northern Asia, Australia, and Russia. RoadChem™ 790® is compatible with most Russian, Asian and Arabian crude based bitumen. Mix designs should always be carried out with any aggregate/bitumen system.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:
Appearance: amber liquid
Viscosity 40C: 100cp
Flash point: > 200°C
Specific gravity: 1.11 @ 25°C
Storage: Store in a cool dry place, do not let the temperature exceed 120°F (50°C). Use open drums first.
Storage life: 12 months minimum (If stored correctly).
Packaging: Supplied in steel drums (205 lt) or in 1 tonne totes.


APPLICATION:
RoadChem™ 790® is suitable for use in slurry and microsurfacing systems where rapid cure is required.
RoadChem™ 790® is compatible with a wide range of polymer modification types, including Neoprene, SBR, EVA and SBS.

Recommended pH range for use: 1.5-2.5

TYPICAL FORMULATION:

Quickset Slurry

All formulations should be tested in the laboratory before use.

Soap solution:
RoadChem™ 300® 1.3-1.5%
RoadChem™ 790® 0.1-0.3%
Hydrochloric acid: Adjust to required pH
Latex: 2.3-3.0%
Water: Adjust to 100%
Asphalt: 60-65%


Microsurfacing

All formulations should be tested in the laboratory before use.

Soap solution:
RoadChem™ 200® 1.3-1.5%
RoadChem™ 790® 0.1-0.3%
Hydrochloric acid: Adjust to required pH
Latex: 2.3-3.0%
Water: Adjust to 100%
Asphalt: 60-65%

RoadChem™ 790® may be used in combination with other Roadchem chemicals in VSS Tri-Emulsion TM technology emulsions for tailored mixtures. It is compatible with RoadChem™ 326,309,300,306, 200, 206.
